 Frequently Asked Questions

I have never been fly fishing, can I still attend?

Yes, the fly fishing component will be taught in small, hands on groups by a professional fishing guide. We aim for this to be a safe environment for learning and camaraderie. All fishing gear is provided.

Is this a co-ed event? Can I attend with a partner?

Yes this is a co-ed event. No matter how you identify, you are welcome. Feel free to sign up with your partner, friend, sibling, etc

What should I bring for hiking clothes?

We suggest packing a variety of layers (re: puffer, fleece layer, tights, knit hat, shorts, gloves). Layers can be shed as the day warms up. Poly-blends and wool are great for hiking as they wick sweat away from the body. In summer, shorts and long sleeve sun-shirts are great for being on the water, as well as buffs to protect your chin and neck from the sun glare.

How many people are attending this trip?

Our guest list has 6 spaces. First come, first served.

How do I purchase a fishing license for Utah prior to the trip?

You can purchase a Utah fishing license here. There are options for both resident and non-residents. We suggest either the 3-day permit or the 7-day if you plan to stay in Utah longer and fish before or after our trip.

The Green River originates in Wyoming, where it flows 291 miles before entering the state of Utah. It runs for 42 miles in Colorado, and then once again journey’s back into Utah, and then runs another 397 miles. Eventually, the Green connects with the Colorado River, where it empties into Lake Powell.
