Capitol Reef Women’s Backpacking

Tailor-made backpacking trip for women who crave adventure, camaraderie, and the thrill of the great outdoors.

Explore the Waterpocket Fold, a “wrinkle” formed millions of years ago to create this unique landscape. With your Good Trip Adventure guide, you’ll learn about the native Fremont people, pioneers, and homesteads while backpacking with a supportive group of women. Hone your backpacking skills in one of Utah’s lesser visited National Parks. Sleep under the stars, swap stories over the campfire, and travel back in geologic time.

Our group of 6 had a great time exploring Moab and surrounding canyons with Outdoor Mavens. Our guide Traci put together a fabulous trip that included amazing hikes, canyoneering, rappelling , bicycling, and stargazing.

  • Sarah D

“Capitol Reef was simply fabulous. I had no idea the extent of pioneering and indigenous history here. Our guide gave us pro tips on how to best pack up each morning and ways to keep our pack balanced and necessary items accessible. I loved how much we all learned as a group.”

 Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I meet my guide?

Your tour guide will meet you at Salt Lake City International Airport in Salt Lake City, Utah at 11:00 am on Day 1, so please book a flight that arrives by 10 am. Alternatively, you can be collected at your accommodation in Salt Lake City at 9:30am if you are already in town.

What should I bring for hiking clothes?

We suggest packing a variety of layers (re: puffer, fleece layer, tights, knit hat, shorts). Layers can be shed as the day warms up. Poly-blends are great for hiking as they wick sweat away from the body.
